Although Brézème is still relatively unknown, its slopes and its terroir are steeped in history. Vines have been grown on the Brézème hillsides since the Middle Ages. Classified as a Côtes du Rhône in 1937, Brézème has, for several years, been taking steps to obtain the status of cru. Domaine de Bréseyme currently cultivates 4 hectares (10 acres) of Brézème Côtes du Rhône and 4.5 hectares (11 acres) of Collines Rhodaniennes. With a 16-hectare (40-acre) land reserve, the estate will be able to pursue its growth and increase the production of these fine wines. Founded by the Gresse Family in 1999, Domaine de Bréseyme was acquired in 2018 by Maison & Domaines Les Alexandrins, experts in the Northern Rhône, based in Tain l’Hermitage.
